Karuna Foudriat
Karuna Foudriat, MEd, is an ordained interfaith minister, initiator and meditation guide of the Sufi Ruhaniat International. As a certified leader and mentor of the Dances of Universal Peace she leads circles in New Paltz, the Abode of the Message, Albany and beyond. Karuna is a Masters of Divinity candidate at Starr King Unitarian Universalist seminary in Berkeley, CA, where she is pursuing a degree in Islamic studies. She is also an experienced chaplain, working at the Albany Medical Center with families dealing with end of life issues, and leading groups on spirituality for mental health patients there. A Waldorf teacher for 25 years, she has taught classes in spirituality and comparative religion for children, teens, adults and seniors. She has extensive retreat experience in both the Vipasana Buddhist and Sufi traditions.
